Stupid Doctor and Fav Photo Tuesday or Wednesday......

So yesterday was Autumn's well baby check up. She will be 4 months on the 11th, I can not believe that!! She weighed a little over 10 lbs and is 22 1/2 in., she is only in the 5th percentile, a little peanut like Z. Well, she got her immunizations, I had been thinking about waiting a few more months to do another set since it has only been a few months but her last shots she did so good, no fever or any reaction so I thought it should be fine. So I went ahead and did it, after the shots she got a fever (which is normal for my kids), her eyes were swollen and just all around fussy. I had to give her Tylenol every 4 hours to make it tolerable. I was changing her diaper this morning and noticed her legs had a rash all over and were swollen. So I called the doctor and brought her in. What a waste of time!!! This doctor I saw has to be the stupidest doctor ever. I did not see my normal Dr. but his assistant, I was beyond furious when I left. I think he thought I was some stupid young first time mom. He proceeds to tell me it is not a reaction and then corrects himself and says yes it is a reaction and it is probably a soap reaction. Being the nice, passive person I am, I just did not say a word and rolled my eyes as he was not watching. HEE HEE. Sometimes I wish I was not so passive! I still can not believe he was trying to tell me it is a soap reaction. I think I know the difference between a reaction from soap (my children have sensitive skin) and a shot reaction! So what would you do? Do I call my normal doctor and complain or just forget about it???

Autumn is doing better, her fever is down, her legs are still a little swollen and the rash is almost gone. She ate good and is napping. I just wanted to be on the safe time but I guess I just wasted my time!

Fav Photo Tuesday on Wednesday this week. I forgot yesterday was Tuesday with the holiday on Monday, so here you go.......

i don't give my kids shots because of all the bad things in them. I'm glad she's feeling better.

What great pictures!!

Doctors....
I Hate it when the blow me off and just assume I'm stupid! That has happened to me more than once. I'm the more passive type too and I wonder if they can tell and then feel they don't have to take us as seriosly? Maybe you should call and complain. Did he even ask if you had changed soaps? Why would a soap reaction suddenly show up just after she got her shots. (I'm rolling my eyes too.)

I better get off this soapbox or I will rant to no end. I've had several bad experiences with doctors..

Hope she is all better now.
Thanks for your comments on my blog, I really appreciate the things you say! :)

LOVE the pics!! She does look like a little doll in Target! What a sweet little peanut!
Doctors are frustrating! Just remember that as mom, you know best, despite them trying to make you feel as though you are crazy!! Complaining now probably won't help, but I would definitely bring it up next visit- just mention that his/her assistant made you feel like they just wouldn't listen to what you were saying.

(hugs)

Thanks girls for the encoragement. It is so hard when a doctor makes you feel stupid. I decided I will be talking to mt normal dr next time I go in and I don't know if I will get her next set of shots till she is closer to a year. I really hate the affects shots have but I am to afraid not to immunize my kids.
Autumn just loves her bumbo. She sat in it for an hour this morning watching us. She was oh so cute!!
